This section focuses on how early recognition of neurological and learning differences, along with the right SEN support and continuity beyond school, can radically alter a child’s life trajectory. It highlights the harm caused when mainstream education is unsuitable or when needs such as dyslexia, autism or ADHD are missed, minimised or simply routed into “low sets” rather than properly understood and supported. Over time, this area of the site will also include links to academic work on SEN, exclusion and long‑term outcomes, with the broader aim of informing – and eventually helping to fund – research that demonstrates the true impact of early intervention and appropriate educational provision.
